While most of his stories are for adults, he also enjoys terrifying younger audiences from time to time, as seen in his series of twisted picture books for children. He credits King, Poe, Hitchcock, Stoker, and his second grade school teacher, Mrs. Lake, for turning him to horror.

The trailer of D. Melhoff’s first novel, Come Little Children, has officially been released on YouTube and Vimeo. Credit of the book’s cover goes to Carl Graves, owner and designer at Extended Imagery.

Come_Little_Children_BookThe book’s scheduled release date is Wednesday, October 30, 2013. It will be available immediately as a paperback, and the e-book will be released the following week. Copies will be available through Amazon and other vendors will begin selling shortly after. The eBook will be priced at $2.99, and the paperback will be available for $12.99 plus shipping.

In addition to the trailer, the following synopsis was also released:

The Nolan morgue is more than just an ordinary funeral home. When their newest employee uncovers a supernatural conspiracy connected to a string of child murders, she must use every shred of her intelligence to stop a new breed of serial killer and escape the morgue alive.
